Ale Asylum Ambergeddon – It’s a hoppy amber beast.
Ballast Point Big Eye – This west coast brew is finally available in my market and I couldn’t be happier. It is a solid west coast style IPA. Crisp, hoppy and refreshing. Citrus, pine and floral notes dominate the nose and palate with just the right amount of bitterness.
Stone Woot Stout – A big stout brewed with rye, wheat malt, pecans and then aged in whiskey barrels. Kinda nutty.
Ale Asylum Satisfaction Jackson – A hopped up slightly malty IIPA. It’ll satisfy ya.
Three Floyds Alpha King – Big, crisp and hoppy this pale ale is not to be missed.
Sierra Nevada Devestateion – Not quite the devastation that Sierra Nevada made it out to be. Big and roasty with hints of coffee. The hops shine through the darkness to lend a solid citrus flavor.
Terrapin White Chocolate Moo-Hoo – A White Milk Chocolate Stout. I really enjoyed this limited brew from Terrapin. I didn’t quite get white chocolate out of it but it was delicious. Loads of dark chocolate and vanilla flavor going on.
Rogue Old Crustacean – One of my favorite barley wines, though I’m not sure I’ve met one that I didn’t like. Bold with spicy hops and loads of malt. Nice and boozy but easily quaffable. I love a good Quaff.
Southern Tier Compass – It is a pale ale brewed with rose hips and a good bit of hops. When poured it smells seriously floral with the scent of roses flowing out of the top of the glass. it has a really nice citrus flavored hop profile going on that nicely compliments the rose.
Heavy Seas Yule Tide – An Imperial Red Ale brewed with ginger and aged in rum barrels. This thing smelled like hot buttered rum. The taste was more of the same with a bit of sweetness finished with a hint of spicy ginger.
Lagunitas Brown Shugga – A delicious treat to bring in the cool winter weather. It had a shit ton of maltyness and a bit of hops to keep that malt in check. It is almost 10% but goes down scary easy.
Chipotle Smoked Imperial Porter – Smokey and a touch of spice/heat.
August was busy month and most of my beer drinking went un-documented or was on draft but I did manage to scrounge up these beers for the list.
Uinta Cahoots – Lots of Rye and super smooth. Like really smooth. It hides the 9.4% abv to well.
Stone 17th Anniversary – They did it again! Another bad ass IPA. This one uses mostly German ingredients but attains an almost west coast flavor.
Clown Shoes Swagger – This hoppy red lager is bold for a lager. Just enough sweet red malts and bold IPA style hops make this a unique drinkable lager.
Burnt Hickory Brewery 9353 – If you are going to put fruit in my beer, do it like this! Big Belgian IIPA brewed with peaches. Nice and bitter with a hint of tartness and peaches. Fucking delicious.
Westbrook IPA – Pungent hoppiness in a can. I highly recommend you try this if your an IPA fan.
Lagunitas New DogTown Pale Ale – De-fucking-licious. This pale ale is a hoppy son of a bitch and I love it. If you like IPA’s then try this. It falls into the weird “Not sure if its an IPA, Pale Ale, or Session IPA” category that’s been building up lately.
